Why Adopt?

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room.

This is a Jewish fertility organization. We are named “I Was Supposed To Have A Baby” because many in our community want a child, think they are going to have a child, watch their families and friends have children, but they struggle. Those individuals and families do view adoption as their last resort.

But many do not.

So many others want to give a child an opportunity for a better life, a more stable home and loving family. They do not view it as taking the place of biological children; They view it as something they want to do, regardless of whether they can conceive and carry a pregnancy to term.

So don’t automatically assume that adoption is only for those who “fail” treatments.

It’s for anyone who wants to give a child a (Jewish) home. It’s the very essence of Tikkun Olam (tikkun olam is the idea that Jews bear responsibility not only for their own moral, spiritual, and material welfare, but also for the welfare of society at large).❤️
